FOUR CORNERS EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

The Four Corners Emergency Management met at Van’s Steakhouse in Baxter Springs, Kansas on
Wednesday, August 5, 2009. The meeting was attended by 17 people. Meeting was called to order by Candy
Adams and introductions were done.
Minutes from the previous meeting was discussed and motion by Keith Stammer and seconded by Jim Burton to
approve. Motion carried
Treasurer’s report – Gary Roark (in absentia) stated that there was no change. An audit was done
by Cathy Stammer, (Keith’s wife). Keith reported no problems with the finances.
The 2009 conference was discussed. It will be held on Dec. 2nd , 3rd , and 4th in Branson, Mo at the Radisson
Hotel. The registration form was sent out and needs to be filled out and sent back in. Attendees are responsible
for their own rooms and reservations should be made as soon as possible. The following is the summary of discussion
about the conference.
FOLDERS - To be done by Washington Co, Ark reps
NAME BADGES - To be done by Joplin Red Cross reps
SPEAKERS AND/OR WORKSHOPS: Representatives from the Health Department from each state will discuss the H1N1- Pandemic flu situation.
Weather class to be done by the National Weather Service.
State Communication updates to be done by representatives from each state.
Search/Rescue and Advanced ICS to be done by representatives from Arkansas.
The Table-Top exercise for the conference will be a scenario based agriculture and food safety/security
and will be done by combining the attendees into their respective group of function/expertise – then
state groups possibly. An exercise design team will be formed to develop the exercise. Any person is welcome
to participate on the design team.
Keith Stammer reported that he had updated the EOC Template and that it is available through the Southwest
Mo Emergency Support Organization (SMESO) website http://smeso.org/
The Four Corners website will change administrators from Jaci McReynolds to John Gagliardo.
The next meeting will be in McDonald County, Mo at Cotton Eyed Joes in Noel, Mo. On Sept. 30, 2009 at 11 am.
