Four Corners Emergency Management
October 5th, 2011 Meeting Minutes

The Four Corners Emergency Management met on Wednesday, Oct 5, 2011 at Granny Shaffers in Joplin, Mo. The meeting was attended by 19 people. The meeting was called to order by Candy Adams.

The minutes from the August meeting was read and motion by Gregg Sweeten and seconded by Bob Kitsmiller to approve. Motion carried.

The treasurer report was given by Gary Roark. As of today, the organization has $2,549.86 in the bank. The fee to the Radisson Hotel in Branson has been paid for the upcoming conference.

The upcoming conference was discussed and the classes that will be done are:

• ESF's - Which one will you use
• FEMA - Reaction to the Joplin Tornado
• Donations Management - Dealing with the donations during and months after the incident.
• Randy Duncan, Sedgwick County, KS EM will be the guest speaker for the conference.

NWS Steve Runnels discussed shelters, primarily private shelters, and if the States have any actions for grants to help people establish their shelter. This will be a discussion that will be done also at conference.

Next meeting will be in Branson, Mo at the conference.

The meeting adjourned at 1250 hrs.
